Used Car of the Day: 2000 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 SS SLP

The 2000 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 SS SLP is one of those cars I used to geek out on when I picked up a buff book back during my college days. So naturally, I picked this one for today's UCOTD.

This car has T-tops, the factory Hurst shifter, a factory Monsoon stereo, and factory leather. It also has a lot of mods. Still, according to the seller, it's a great daily driver and has only been to the track once.

The car has been garage-kept and hasn't been driven a ton, though it does appear to have about 111,000 miles (not shocking for a car old enough to drink).

Mods include LS6 heads, a C Motion cam, an upgraded intake, an upgraded exhaust, an upgraded rear-end with a 4:10 ratio, and more.

It makes 435 horsepower, runs 93 pump gas, and the compression ratio is 11:3.

The paint is apparently in good shape, and defects seem limited to an ABS light that can't be turned off and a foggy headlamp.

The asking price for this Texas-based car is $15,900.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

“Only been to the track once” is quite a statement one should consider much more then they probably intended when they added it in the ad. Just Saying…

That's a lot of automobile for the money.

  • 28-Cars-Later

Fedgov and it's interests doesn't want Americans to have cheap trucks.[/*]
Vinfast had the balls to ask $47,200 for its wares - this was a combination of greed and stupidity on the part of VinFast. The same product for a more realistic sum would have sold as-is just fine. VinFast also announced its VF3 will launch at $20K (but more likely $25+, and that's before any additional tariffs) but sells in Vietnam for $9,248. [/*]
